The 12 trustees of the York Region District School Board are responsible for overseeing an educational system that serves over 121,000 students in more than 200 schools.
They are empowered under the Education Act to create policy for the operation of all public schools in York Region.
Trustees work with educational staff and the broader community to deliver educational program and services.
Trustees are a necessary link between the school system and the community. They represent the voice of the community and are accountable for decision made by the Board.
