Dennis Bailey Knows...
The issues- as a school council member and former chair, I know the challenges parents, teachers and students face at both the elementary and secondary level.
The law and policies- as a lawyer, I understand the complexities of the Education Act, its regulations, and Ministry policies, as well as how they apply to the issues facing school communities today.
How to manage a budget- as the Executive Director of a Community Legal Clinic, I have consistently run a surplus on an annual budget in excess of $1,000,000 and for which I am accountable to both a board of directors and several funders.
How to advocate- I know how to make change, whether through my knowledge of the law, the use of persuasive and logical arguments, or by negotiation and mediation.
What matters- as a father of two children who attend school in YRDSB, and as a community volunteer, I know what is important to families and community members.
